František Kupka Man and the Earth | Chinese Case DesingPublished 2005
This unique publication was published in 2005 on the occasion of an exhibition of the same name held at the National Gallery in Beijing, China, with a print run of 333 copies. The book contains reproductions of a series of 105 ink paintings by František Kupka titled “Man and the Earth”, which captures the history of humanity on Earth. The graphic design by the prominent Chinese artist Shen Shaojun unites the traditional and universally admired Chinese artistic graphics of the Ming dynasty and Western culture, represented by the Czech native František Kupka. The book, which with its wooden box weighs 12 kilograms, received one of the main awards at the 17th Hong Kong Book Fair in January 2006.
