EXPO 2010 LacrimAu

LacrimAu in the Czech Pavilion at EXPO 2010 is very successful

The golden tear LacrimAu – one of the most closely observed exhibits in the Czech Pavilion at EXPO 2010 in Shanghai – successfully started with the opening of the National exposition its operation. Every five hundredth visitor has an opportunity to enter the glass room, where the tear from pure gold is situated, the sensors on a special headband capture his emotions and the automatic laboratory mixes for him a personal perfume based on the emotions.
„Even though the transport of the golden tear and the scents was delayed due to the recent interruption in the air transport over Europe, it has arrived in the Czech Pavilion in time,“ says Federico Díaz, author of the LacrimAu exhibits. „Nevertheless we had to undergo the last tests with the scents still as late as night on May the 1st, “ the young artist added.
The tear’s size equals one ton of pure gold, but the exact weight of this noble metal used is smaller. The visitors of the Czech pavilion can tip the exact weight through Bluetooth technology and so get involved in a competition the ten winners of which will divide between themselves half a million RMB, i.e. approximately 1,4 million CZK.
„The price for our winners is financed by one of our partners,“ explained the Commissioner General of the Czech Participation in EXPO 2010 Pavel Antonín Stehlík and reminded of the fact that „the Chinese are very playful and the competition so becomes another magnet to attract the public’s attention to the Czech Pavilion“.
„The Golden tip competition“ will last from May 1st to October 25th, 2010 and on October 28th, 2010, i.e. on the Czech National Holiday and two days before the ending of the World Exhibition EXPO, the winners will be announced.
